Doug Montgomery is the entertainment jewel of Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has been called "gifted," "best in the world at what he does," and "the finest pianist" by mega-fans like Grammy winner Susan Graham and Broadway luminary Michael Feinstein. From Chopin to Standards, Bach to Broadway, the Beatles and John Williams, Doug shines with his ability to capture a song's soul with his inspired lyrical interpretations.
Born and raised in Chicago, his Bachelor's degree in music from Northwestern University and his Masters from iconic Juilliard were quickly followed by a slew of prestigious awards. Then his real education began.
With classical concerts scheduled farther apart than he wished, Doug began appearing at piano bars, where his classical/pop/American songbook repertoire expanded rapidly in direct ratio to his reputation. In short order, he could play the soundtrack of anyone's life - in their key! - while displaying an uncanny skill for remembering his best customers' names and favorite songs even years later. He also became adept at both improvisational riff, seamlessly weaving weaving disparate songs together in one-the-spot arrangements, his fingers flying or easing across the keyboard.
Since he landed in Santa Fe, NM in 1982, Doug's fame has spread internationally via cruise ship engagements and twenty-five years in Indian Wells, California, as well as concerts throughout the US. He is a world-class entertainer, so we will have a few hours to experience this man who can evoke your personal history through the most significant musical moments in your life.
