The Paramount Theatre is a multi-use facility and home to the Paramount Theatre’s diverse programming, as well as a myriad of rental events hosted by organizations throughout the Big Country. Our complete Event Calendar below contains all public events scheduled in the facility. Some dates being held for private events do not appear on the main calendar listing.

Children’s Art & Literacy Festival
Featuring MATT PHELAN

SKETCH WITH MATT

Thursday, June 12 - 7:00 PM to 8:40 PM

Watch Matt Phelan draw and follow along with your own sketchbook! In this interactive demonstration, learn about Phelan’s award-winning career.

The first 500 people will receive a special CALF button, Storybook Capital pencil, and sketch book.

Book signing immediately follows in the lobby. Phelan’s books will be for sale. Please bring only books purchased from the NCCIL. No posed or flash photography.

There are multiple opportunities to have your books signed!

  • Following “Sketch with Matt” at 7 pm Thursday, June 12, Paramount Theatre Lobby. NCCIL books will be for sale in the lobby. The first 500 people will receive a special CALF button, Storybook Capital pencil and sketch book.

  • 9 - 11 am Friday, June 13, National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature (NCCIL). Please bring only books purchased from the NCCIL. No posed or flash photography.

  • Matt will sign books Saturday morning during his workshop at the NCCIL. Pre-registration required at nccil.org/calf

  • Matt will sign books Friday night during the ticketed dinner event in the NCCIL gallery. Purchase tickets at nccil.org/calf

  • Become a NCCIL member by June 6 and you can purchase Matt Phelan books at the gift shop and leave them to be signed by Matt - no waiting in lines! Go to nccil.org to become a member!

    Books for Sale:

  • NCCIL mobile bookstore at the T&P Depot

  • Purchase books at the NCCIL during the festival

  • Purchase NCCIL books at the Paramount the night of June 12
