IN THE HEIGHTS OF HOLLYWOOD
WITH NELSON COATES

Meet one of the top production designers in cinema, award-winning movie and TV designer Nelson Coates. A graduate of Abilene High School and Abilene Christian University, Nelson Coates has spent most of this year designing for the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights.” He earned the Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Award for “Crazy Rich Asians.”

At this event, Nelson will share big screen moments from his career and have a Q&A. The ACAC will present Nelson with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Proceeds from this event benefit the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council’s HeARTS for the ARTS program that awards grants to local arts groups to help with programming for children and special needs populations.
