LOCATION

The Paramount is located at 352 Cypress Street in historic downtown Abilene, Texas and is part of a duo of buildings built in 1930 as a hotel and adjacent movie theatre. Cypress is a one-way street with direct right-of-way access from North First or North Third.

PARKING

On-street parking is available with no time-limit after 5 PM. Prior to 5 PM, on-street parking is limited to one hour. There is also a private parking lot located directly across from the theatre that is available for all Paramount evening events, but has limited space available.

Non-restricted parking is also available at the Abilene Convention Center, located two blocks north of the theatre on Cypress Street.

PLEASE NOTE: Many of Abilene’s downtown parking lots are privately owned and strictly enforce a no-parking rule 24 hours a day. Be aware of posted restrictions to any downtown lot when parking.

The restoration of the Paramount in 1987 was the beginning of a 32 year process of renovation and recovery of Abilene’s historic downtown area, which is now home to shops, galleries, museums, restaurants, brew pubs, bars, and Abilene’s “storybook sculpture” collection.
